The morphostructural analysis and regionalization on a base of air and space photographs as well as ground geological and geomorphological research at the Ardon – Terek watershed resulted in identification of autonomous morphostructures characterized by various hierarchical orders, types, and intensity of differentiated neotectonic movements; longitudinal and transverse morphostructural lineaments were also identified. The Shaukhokh- Kazbekskaya covering folded morphostructure experiences the most significant neotectonic rise. Some factors indicate that morphostructural lineaments, stretching along Fiagdon, Midagrabindon and Genaldon river valleys, are boundaries of block morphostructures experiencing differentiated neotectonic movements. This should be affirmed, however, through detailed geological and geophysical research. The Kazbek-Sevan transorogen morphostructural lineament plays a significant (but underestimated so far) role as a regional boundary in the relief and neotectonic structure of the northern slope of the Great Caucasus.
