The journal "Sustainable development of mountain territories" is included in the "List of leading reviewed scientific magazines and editions in which basic scientific results of dissertations for scientific degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences should be published " in accordance with the opinion of the Presidium of the HAC of Ministry of education and science of the Russian Federation from 26.03.2019.

Published in the journal "Sustainable development of mountain territories" articles are indexed in the Russian index of scientific citing (RISC) on the basis of the Scientific electronic library elibrary.ru (SEL).

The journal is registered as mass medium by the  Federal Service for the monitoring of compliance with legislation in the area of mass communications and cultural heritage protection (certificate of registration  PI № FS 77-27831 of April 19, 2007).

Since 2018, the journal Sustainable Development of Mountain Territories has been included in the Scopus international citation database and has a quality certificate confirming its compliance with international standards and information system criteria.
